Eighteen Hall of Famers who won a total of 89,621 races, including 20 runnings of the Kentucky Derby, participated in a Q&A; session and an autograph signing to beneft the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame and the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund. In attendance were Braulio Baeza, Bill Boland, Don Brumfeld, Steve Cauthen, Pat Day, Earlie Fires, Sandy Hawley, Eddie Maple, Chris McCarron, Don Pierce, Lafft Pincay Jr., Randy Romero, John Rotz, Jose Santos, Gary Stevens, Jacinto Vasquez, Jorge Velasquez, and Manny Ycaza. Military Day Military Day at the Races Presented by Marathon April 24, activities included the rollout of a 40x60-foot fag by Lexington's Henry Clay High School Junior ROTC. College Scholarship Day During College Scholarship Day April 8, 1,664 students from colleges and universities in Kentucky and beyond registered to win $20,000 worth of scholarships and $7,000 worth of prizes. Keeneland partners with the Kentucky Thoroughbred Association to host the day. Scholarship winners were from Georgetown College, Morehead State University, Northern Kentucky University, Transylvania University, and the University of Kentucky. Sarah Gossett from UK won the $10,000 Runhappy Scholarship, offered by Jim and Linda McIngvale, owners of champion sprinter Runhappy. On Horses and Hope Pink Day April 13, fans wore pink to promote breast cancer awareness. Former Kentucky frst lady Jane Beshear and the Kentucky Cancer Program hosted a survivors' luncheon and a Derby Fashion Style Show. In the Horses and Hope race, the six runners had pink saddle towels, and their jockeys wore pink caps. The winner was Jack Frost's Ironclad. Keeneland Kids Club had a busy spring. On March 26, more than 1,500 children found 7,500 eggs at the annual Easter egg hunt. Participants contributed 855 pounds of food — equivalent to 700 meals — to beneft God's Pantry, a Lexington food bank. On April 17 club members and their families enjoyed an afternoon at the races. John Elway, a Pro Football Hall of Famer and general manager of the Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos, on April 16 presented the trophy to Will and Sarah Farish and jockey Brian Hernandez Jr. after Farish's Eagle won the Ben Ali Stakes (gr. III).
