winter 2014 connections 22 winter 2014 K Rosie napravnik scored a unique double at Keeneland when she rode Winstar Farm's Race day to win the frst race Oct. 3, opening day of the fall meet. The race was the frst on Keeneland's new dirt track. On April 25, closing day of the spring meet, napravnik won the fnal race on Polytrack when she rode Contessa B. to win the 10th race. Keeneland introduced two unique offerings to promote the 2014 september yearling sale to the local community and to showcase Central Kentucky to clients from around the world. On sept. 10 Keeneland and VisitLeX's Beyond Grits presented the Jefferson street soiree, which drew an estimated crowd of 7,000 locals and out-of-town guests to celebrate one of Lexington's culinary and cocktail hot spots. Above left, Keeneland and Country Boy Brewing collaborated on Keeneland sale Ale, a small-batch beer produced by the local brewery, which was sold throughout Central Kentucky. Clients at Keeneland's september yearling sale were able to inspect the 175 high-quality pieces of art cataloged to the 2014 sporting Art Auction, which will be held nov. 19. Keeneland Association and Cross Gate Gallery of Lexington, Ky., are once again collaborating to hold the sporting Art Auction, which will begin at 4 p.m. in the Keeneland sales Pavilion. Keeneland-based reigning two-time Horse of the Year Wise dan won Keeneland's frst million-dollar race, the grade i shadwell Turf Mile stakes on Oct. 4. The victory was the 14th straight win on grass for Wise dan.
