82 SUMMER 2016 K KEENELAND.COM professional profle JULIA HANNAN, Controller Born: July 1979, Lebanon, Kentucky Education: Cum laude bachelor's degree in accounting from Saint Mary's College (Notre Dame, Indiana) Family: husband Philip Hannan (Bonne Chance Farm project manager) and three young sons. Years in the Business: 13 years in accounting-related roles Career Highlights: My frst position was right here in Lexington at the corporate offces of Fazoli's. During those frst years in various accounting roles I became an organized and effcient accountant, eager for new challenges. It was a privilege to be a member of the business offce staff at Transylvania University for several years. That was an entirely different experience from the corporate and for-proft business world. While at Transy, I became aware of an accounting position here. The truth is that I had always dreamed of working at Keeneland and here I am. Hobbies: I enjoy activities with my boys and vacationing with my family. What you enjoy about working at Keeneland: This place is beautiful and the community of people who work at Keeneland is just amazing. Each member of our accounting team is willing, with a smile, to do whatever it takes to get through crunch budget time, audit preparations, the sales, race meets, and all the various activities that make Keeneland Association successful. Last year at Breeders' Cup, and for two months of every year during our race meets, I look out of my window and see the most beautiful horses in the world. I hope to stay at Keeneland a very long time. PHOTO BY KEENELAND/PHOTOS BY Z
